Our Story

Southern Source Clothier began with a dream, a whole lot of prayer, and a few loose sheets of paper that held a business plan I had been writing for four years.

When I moved to Colquitt, Georgia, I saw something special in this little town. I saw potential. I saw a community that deserved a place to shop, gather, and find things they loved without having to leave town. I wanted Southern Source to become a staple in our community—a place that brought a little bit of everything together and made shopping both convenient and enjoyable.

My love for retail fashion began long before Southern Source. I spent six years working at a boutique in Moultrie, Georgia, where I discovered just how much I loved fashion, styling, and, most importantly, people. Customer service became just as meaningful to me as the clothes themselves. I loved helping someone find something that made them feel good.

Eventually, I ventured into another career, but something was missing. I realized I missed the creativity, connection, and passion I had found in the retail world. Clothing is an expression, and I love that fashion gives people a way to express themselves while feeling confident and beautiful.

So, we prayed. We dreamed. And we waited.

Then, in October of 2023, a simple message changed everything. I had heard that a building in town might be for sale, so I reached out just to inquire. It wasn’t actually for sale—but the response was, “We haven’t thought about it, but we’re definitely not opposed.”

Sometimes, a door doesn’t open exactly the way you expect it to. Sometimes, you just have to knock.

From there, what started as a conversation slowly became a reality. We transitioned into the owners of the brick and mortar, poured our hearts into bringing the space to life, and watched Southern Source begin to take shape.

We opened our doors in March 2024, starting with both men’s and women’s clothing. As we grew, we listened to our customers, watched what our community needed, and slowly evolved into the women’s boutique you know today.

And through every change, one thing has remained the same:

We want to be the source for all things Southern.

A source for fashion. A source for gifts. A source for accessories. A source for inspiration. But most importantly, a source for our community.

Southern Source is more than a clothing store to me. It is a dream I prayed over for years, a creative outlet that allows me to do what I love, and a place where I get to connect with people every day.
